Our own energy

Electricity for the farm and neighboring homes

In 2022, the Company launched an agricultural biogas plant with an electrical capacity of 0.999 MW. The energy produced serves the farm's own needs, and the surplus is fed into the grid, powering neighboring homes and businesses.

Waste heat generated during electricity production is used in winter to heat the barns, warehouses, offices, and staff facilities. In summer, it is converted via a chilled water unit into cooling used to lower technological temperatures in these buildings.

Excellent organic fertilizer

Digestate as an alternative to organic-mineral fertilizers

Methane fermentation produces digestate — excellent organic fertilizer, used as an alternative to organic-mineral fertilizers on our fields.

We use mainly pig slurry and other waste from the agri-food industry to produce biogas. We hold the necessary permits for waste and by-product processing.

Environmental commitment

Reducing our carbon footprint

Inter-Agri Sp. z o.o. is a farm specializing in food production that strives to minimize its negative impact on the environment. The company runs both pig breeding and energy crop cultivation, and its biogas plant plays a key role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Actions to reduce emissions

  • Using slurry and bio-waste to produce biogas instead of traditional storage.
  • Efficient energy management, including widespread use of photovoltaics and heat recovery.
  • Minimizing the use of organic-mineral fertilizers by using digestate as organic fertilizer.
